AU Mic is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.64 solar masses, 3,540 K, 0.86 solar radii), 32 light-years from Earth. AU Microscopii is a young nearby red dwarf with a debris disk and transiting planets that are still losing their youthful heat. AU Mic b is a 9.0-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 8.5 days, at 0.070 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 555 K, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.07), discovered in 2020 via transit. AU Mic c is a 14.5-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 18.9 days, at 0.119 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 425 K, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.18), discovered in 2021 via transit.
