WD 1856+534 is a white dwarf about the size of Earth, not a living star. WD 1856 b is a Jupiter-sized planet transiting a white dwarf, proof that a giant world can exist around a dead star. WD 1856+534 b is a 13.8-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 1.4 days, at 0.020 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 163 K, discovered in 2020 via transit.
