V0391 Peg is a bright A-type star (about 0.50 solar masses, 29,300 K, 0.23 solar radii), 1,196 light-years from Earth. V0391 Peg b is a 3.20-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 3.20 years, at 1.700 AU from its star, discovered in 2007 via pulsation timing variations. V0391 Peg adds another data point to the growing catalogue of planetary systems whose masses, orbits, and host-star properties constrain models of planet formation. V0391 Peg b orbits at roughly the distance of Mars from the Sun. At roughly 1,196 light-years, V0391 Peg lies far beyond the nearest stars yet remains reachable to large survey telescopes.
