USco CTIO 108 is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.06 solar masses, 2,700 K), 144 light-years from Earth. USco CTIO 108 b is a 14.0-Jupiter-mass companion, at 670 AU from its star, discovered in 2008 via direct imaging. Direct imaging revealed these planets because they are young, massive, and widely separated from their star, appearing bright in infrared light against the glare. USco CTIO 108 b orbits far from its host star. At 14.0 Jupiter masses, the companion lies near the dividing line between giant planets and brown dwarfs.
