TYC 3667-1280-1 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 1.87 solar masses, 5,130 K, 6.26 solar radii), 478 light-years from Earth. TYC 3667-1280-1 b is a 5.40-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 26.5 days, at 0.210 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 1,350 K, discovered in 2016 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery. TYC 3667-1280-1 b orbits well inside Earth's distance from the Sun.
