TYC 2187-512-1 is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.50 solar masses, 3,734 K, 0.49 solar radii), 15.5 light-years from Earth. TYC 2187-512-1 b is a 0.33-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 1.89 years, at 1.220 AU from its star, discovered in 2022 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery. TYC 2187-512-1 b orbits at roughly the distance of Mars from the Sun.
