TYC 0434-04538-1 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 1.04 solar masses, 4,679 K, 9.99 solar radii), 613 light-years from Earth. TYC 0434-04538-1 b is a 6.10-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 193 days, at 0.660 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.08), discovered in 2021 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery. TYC 0434-04538-1 b circles its star within the inner habitable zone.
