TOI-871 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.76 solar masses, 4,929 K, 0.72 solar radii), 68.0 light-years from Earth. TOI-871 b is a planet with 1.7 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 14.4 days, at 0.105 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 621 K, discovered in 2024 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry. TOI-871 b orbits well inside Earth's distance from the Sun.
