TOI-519 is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.34 solar masses, 3,322 K, 0.35 solar radii), 116 light-years from Earth. TOI-519 b is a 0.46-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 1.3 days, at 0.016 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 687 K, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.33), discovered in 2021 via transit. The inner world is a hot Jupiter — a gas giant hugging its star at a fraction of Mercury's distance — a class that forced astronomers to rethink how giant planets form and migrate inward.
