TOI-3261 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.86 solar masses, 5,068 K, 0.85 solar radii), 300 light-years from Earth. TOI-3261 b is a 0.10-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 21.2 hours, at 0.017 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 1,722 K, discovered in 2024 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry. TOI-3261 b skims its star closer than Mercury orbits the Sun.
