TOI-2498 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.12 solar masses, 5,905 K, 1.26 solar radii), 275 light-years from Earth. TOI-2498 b is a 0.11-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 3.7 days, at 0.049 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 1,443 K, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.09), discovered in 2023 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry. TOI-2498 b skims its star closer than Mercury orbits the Sun.
