TOI-2285 is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.45 solar masses, 3,491 K, 0.46 solar radii), 42.4 light-years from Earth. TOI-2285 b is a planet with 1.8 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 13.6 days, and an equilibrium temperature near 358 K, discovered in 2021 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry. At 1.8 Earth radii, TOI-2285 b is a compact world comparable in size to rocky planets in our Solar System.
