TIC 87422071 is a Sun-like F-type star (about 1.24 solar masses, 6,150 K, 1.49 solar radii), 385 light-years from Earth. TIC 87422071 b is a 1.29-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 11.4 days, at 0.106 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 1,110 K, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.12), discovered in 2026 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry.
