TCP J05074264+2447555 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.59 solar masses, 5,805 K), 505 light-years from Earth. TCP J05074264+2447555 b is a 0.06-Jupiter-mass companion, at 0.940 AU from its star, discovered in 2018 via microlensing. Microlensing detections occur when a foreground star's gravity briefly magnifies a background source, revealing planets that are otherwise too faint and distant to observe directly. TCP J05074264+2447555 b circles its star within the inner habitable zone. Its low mass makes TCP J05074264+2447555 b a Neptune- or super-Earth-class world rather than a gas giant.
