TAP 26 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 1.04 solar masses, 4,620 K, 1.17 solar radii), 121 light-years from Earth. TAP 26 b is a 1.66-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 10.8 days, at 0.097 AU from its star, discovered in 2017 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery. TAP 26 b orbits well inside Earth's distance from the Sun.
