RR Cae is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.44 solar masses, 3,904 K), 21.2 light-years from Earth. RR Cae b is a 4.20-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 11.9 years, at 5.300 AU from its star, discovered in 2012 via eclipse timing variations. RR Cae adds another data point to the growing catalogue of planetary systems whose masses, orbits, and host-star properties constrain models of planet formation. RR Cae b circles in the outer system, comparable to the Jupiter region. Located about 21.2 light-years away, RR Cae is one of the nearer exoplanet hosts on the sky.
