Pr0201 is a Sun-like F-type star (about 1.24 solar masses, 6,174 K, 1.15 solar radii), 181 light-years from Earth. Pr0201 b is a 0.54-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 4.4 days, at 0.060 AU from its star, discovered in 2012 via radial velocity. The inner world is a hot Jupiter — a gas giant hugging its star at a fraction of Mercury's distance — a class that forced astronomers to rethink how giant planets form and migrate inward. Pr0201 b orbits well inside Earth's distance from the Sun.
