OGLE-TR-111 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.82 solar masses, 5,040 K, 0.83 solar radii), 1,068 light-years from Earth. OGLE-TR-111 b is a planet with 11.4 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 4.0 days, at 0.047 AU from its star, discovered in 2004 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry. OGLE-TR-111 b skims its star closer than Mercury orbits the Sun. The planet's large radius (11.4 Earth radii) indicates a bloated atmosphere heated by intense stellar radiation.
