OGLE-2016-BLG-0613L AB is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.72 solar masses, 5,778 K), 3,410 light-years from Earth. OGLE-2016-BLG-0613L AB b is a 4.18-Jupiter-mass companion, at 6.400 AU from its star, discovered in 2017 via microlensing. Microlensing detections occur when a foreground star's gravity briefly magnifies a background source, revealing planets that are otherwise too faint and distant to observe directly. OGLE-2016-BLG-0613L AB b orbits far from its host star. At roughly 3,410 light-years, OGLE-2016-BLG-0613L AB lies far beyond the nearest stars yet remains reachable to large survey telescopes.
