OGLE-2014-BLG-1760L is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.80 solar masses, 5,778 K), 7,056 light-years from Earth. OGLE-2014-BLG-1760L b is a 0.93-Jupiter-mass companion, at 1.887 AU from its star, discovered in 2016 via microlensing. Microlensing detections occur when a foreground star's gravity briefly magnifies a background source, revealing planets that are otherwise too faint and distant to observe directly. OGLE-2014-BLG-1760L b orbits at roughly the distance of Mars from the Sun. At roughly 7,056 light-years, OGLE-2014-BLG-1760L lies far beyond the nearest stars yet remains reachable to large survey telescopes.
