NGC 2682 Sand 1429 is a Sun-like F-type star (about 1.26 solar masses, 6,000 K, 2.13 solar radii), 853 light-years from Earth. NGC 2682 Sand 1429 b is a 1.80-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 77.5 days, at 0.384 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 683 K, discovered in 2024 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery.
