MWC 758 is a bright A-type star (about 1.50 solar masses, 7,314 K), 160 light-years from Earth. MWC 758 c is a confirmed exoplanet, at 100 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 500 K, discovered in 2023 via direct imaging. Direct imaging revealed these planets because they are young, massive, and widely separated from their star, appearing bright in infrared light against the glare. MWC 758 c orbits far from its host star. The 2023 announcement placed MWC 758 among the thousands of confirmed planetary systems mapped since the first exoplanet detections.
