mu2 Sco is a hot B-type star (about 9.10 solar masses, 21,700 K, 5.60 solar radii). mu2 Sco b is a 14.4-Jupiter-mass companion, at 242 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.56), discovered in 2022 via direct imaging. Direct imaging revealed these planets because they are young, massive, and widely separated from their star, appearing bright in infrared light against the glare. The planet's marked eccentricity suggests past scattering events or perturbations from unseen companions. mu2 Sco b orbits far from its host star.
