Kepler-67 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.86 solar masses, 5,331 K, 0.78 solar radii), 1,131 light-years from Earth. Kepler-67 b is a planet with 2.9 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 15.7 days, at 0.117 AU from its star, discovered in 2013 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry. Kepler-67 b orbits well inside Earth's distance from the Sun. At roughly 1,131 light-years, Kepler-67 lies far beyond the nearest stars yet remains reachable to large survey telescopes.
