Kepler-35 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.89 solar masses, 5,606 K, 1.03 solar radii), 1,819 light-years from Earth. Kepler-35 b is a Saturn-sized circumbinary planet, part of the first wave of Tatooine worlds found by Kepler. Kepler-35 b is a 0.13-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 131 days, at 0.603 AU from its star, discovered in 2011 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry. Kepler-35 b circles its star within the inner habitable zone. The planet's large radius (8.2 Earth radii) indicates a bloated atmosphere heated by intense stellar radiation.
