Kepler-1653 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.72 solar masses, 4,807 K, 0.69 solar radii). Kepler-1653 b is a planet with 2.2 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 140 days, at 0.471 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 284 K, discovered in 2017 via transit. At least one planet may receive an Earth-like flux of starlight, placing this system on the short list of potentially habitable worlds worth detailed atmospheric study. Kepler-1653 b circles its star within the inner habitable zone.
