K2-43 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.57 solar masses, 3,841 K, 0.54 solar radii), 183 light-years from Earth. K2-43 c is a planet with 2.4 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 2.2 days, and an equilibrium temperature near 1,094 K, discovered in 2019 via transit. K2-43 b is a planet with 4.5 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 3.5 days, and an equilibrium temperature near 939 K, discovered in 2016 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry.
