ISO-Oph 96 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.41 solar masses, 3,920 K), 141 light-years from Earth. KOINTREAU-3 b is a 3.40-Jupiter-mass companion, at 342 AU from its star, discovered in 2026 via direct imaging. Direct imaging revealed these planets because they are young, massive, and widely separated from their star, appearing bright in infrared light against the glare. KOINTREAU-3 b orbits far from its host star. The 2026 announcement placed ISO-Oph 96 among the thousands of confirmed planetary systems mapped since the first exoplanet detections.
