HN Peg is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.08 solar masses, 6,186 K), 18.1 light-years from Earth. HN Peg b is a 22.0-Jupiter-mass companion, at 773 AU from its star, discovered in 2006 via direct imaging. Direct imaging revealed these planets because they are young, massive, and widely separated from their star, appearing bright in infrared light against the glare. HN Peg b orbits far from its host star. The planet's large radius (11.8 Earth radii) indicates a bloated atmosphere heated by intense stellar radiation.
