HIP 81208 C is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.14 solar masses, 5,778 K), 148 light-years from Earth. HIP 81208 C b is a 14.8-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 285 years, at 23.0 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 2,050 K, discovered in 2023 via direct imaging. Direct imaging revealed these planets because they are young, massive, and widely separated from their star, appearing bright in infrared light against the glare. HIP 81208 C b orbits far from its host star.
