HIP 77900 is a bright A-type star (about 1.00 solar masses, 13,646 K), 151 light-years from Earth. HIP 77900 b is a 21.0-Jupiter-mass companion, at 3,319 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 2,507 K, discovered in 2024 via direct imaging. Direct imaging revealed these planets because they are young, massive, and widely separated from their star, appearing bright in infrared light against the glare. HIP 77900 b orbits far from its host star. With an equilibrium temperature around 2,507 K, the dayside atmosphere is hot enough to vaporise many common minerals.
