HIP 107773 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 2.42 solar masses, 4,945 K, 11.6 solar radii), 105 light-years from Earth. HIP 107773 b is a 1.98-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 144 days, at 0.720 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.09), discovered in 2015 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery. HIP 107773 b circles its star within the inner habitable zone.
