HD 56414 is a bright A-type star (about 1.89 solar masses, 8,500 K, 1.75 solar radii), 272 light-years from Earth. HD 56414 b is a planet with 3.7 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 29.0 days, at 0.229 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 1,133 K, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.68), discovered in 2022 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry.
