HD 195019 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.21 solar masses, 5,751 K, 1.48 solar radii), 37.7 light-years from Earth. HD 195019 b is a 3.98-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 18.2 days, at 0.140 AU from its star, discovered in 1998 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery. HD 195019 b orbits well inside Earth's distance from the Sun.
