HD 192263 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.66 solar masses, 4,976 K, 0.74 solar radii), 19.6 light-years from Earth. HD 192263 b is a 0.56-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 24.4 days, at 0.150 AU from its star, discovered in 1999 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery. HD 192263 b orbits well inside Earth's distance from the Sun.
