HD 154345 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.89 solar masses, 5,468 K), 18.3 light-years from Earth. HD 154345 b is a 1.19-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 8.98 years, at 4.158 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.06), discovered in 2006 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery. HD 154345 b circles in the outer system, comparable to the Jupiter region.
