HD 130322 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.92 solar masses, 5,387 K, 0.85 solar radii), 31.9 light-years from Earth. HD 130322 b is a 1.15-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 10.7 days, at 0.092 AU from its star, discovered in 1999 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery. HD 130322 b orbits well inside Earth's distance from the Sun.
