HD 115954 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.18 solar masses, 5,957 K, 1.21 solar radii), 87.6 light-years from Earth. HD 115954 b is a 8.29-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 10.1 years, at 5.000 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 145 K, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.49), discovered in 2021 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery.
