GU Psc is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.33 solar masses, 4,032 K), 47.6 light-years from Earth. GU Psc b is a 11.3-Jupiter-mass companion, at 2,000 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 1,050 K, discovered in 2014 via direct imaging. Direct imaging revealed these planets because they are young, massive, and widely separated from their star, appearing bright in infrared light against the glare. GU Psc b orbits far from its host star. The planet's large radius (14.2 Earth radii) indicates a bloated atmosphere heated by intense stellar radiation.
