Gl 725 A is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.33 solar masses, 3,433 K, 0.35 solar radii), 3.5 light-years from Earth. Gl 725 A b is a 2.8-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 11.2 days, at 0.068 AU from its star, discovered in 2025 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery. Gl 725 A b orbits well inside Earth's distance from the Sun.
