EPIC 229004835 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.97 solar masses, 5,868 K, 1.00 solar radii), 122 light-years from Earth. EPIC 229004835 b is a 10.4-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 16.1 days, at 0.124 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 804 K, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.23), discovered in 2023 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry.
