EPIC 211822797 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.62 solar masses, 4,057 K, 0.58 solar radii), 186 light-years from Earth. EPIC 211822797 b is a planet with 1.9 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 21.2 days, at 0.119 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 431 K, discovered in 2016 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry. EPIC 211822797 b orbits well inside Earth's distance from the Sun.
