DH Tau is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.33 solar masses, 4,371 K, 0.27 solar radii), 135 light-years from Earth. DH Tau b is a 11.0-Jupiter-mass companion, at 330 AU from its star, discovered in 2004 via direct imaging. Direct imaging revealed these planets because they are young, massive, and widely separated from their star, appearing bright in infrared light against the glare. DH Tau b orbits far from its host star. At 11.0 Jupiter masses, the companion lies near the dividing line between giant planets and brown dwarfs.
