2MASS J22362452+4751425 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.60 solar masses, 4,045 K), 69.6 light-years from Earth. 2MASS J22362452+4751425 b is a 12.5-Jupiter-mass companion, at 230 AU from its star, discovered in 2016 via direct imaging. Direct imaging revealed these planets because they are young, massive, and widely separated from their star, appearing bright in infrared light against the glare. 2MASS J22362452+4751425 b orbits far from its host star. At 12.5 Jupiter masses, the companion lies near the dividing line between giant planets and brown dwarfs.
