2MASS J02192210-3925225 is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.11 solar masses, 3,064 K, 0.28 solar radii). 2MASS J02192210-3925225 b is a 13.9-Jupiter-mass companion, at 156 AU from its star, discovered in 2015 via direct imaging. Direct imaging revealed these planets because they are young, massive, and widely separated from their star, appearing bright in infrared light against the glare. 2MASS J02192210-3925225 b orbits far from its host star. The planet's large radius (16.1 Earth radii) indicates a bloated atmosphere heated by intense stellar radiation. At 13.9 Jupiter masses, the companion lies near the dividing line between giant planets and brown dwarfs.
